Good morning, less than 2 months till Springtime. I’m sharing a flower photo from August of 2014 taken at Gary and Cathy Johnson’s daylily farm in New Ipswich, NH.

It was a coincidence that I found  a blossom that matched in color to a fancy paint job on an antique car.

Brrrr, 16 degrees (-9 C) outside. Many of you have to dig out of snow drifts this morning Surprisingly here in New Hampshire I see bare ground in the back yard which is fine with me.

The photo theme for today is #BeachSunday and I’m including some photos from 2013.  In just 6 months all that snow will be gone and you’ll be on a beach somewhere.

I’m not a fan of crowds, but I love the beach. My strategy is to take a stroll until it thins out a bit.

Summer in full bloom

A few years back I purchased some daylilies from NH Daylily a wonderful local nursery located at 48 Mason Rd in New Ipswich, NH. These plants were field grown and were large and vigorous. I planted them on a hillside which was a foolish choice since they were out of view. This year I moved them to a new home and gave them a nice dose of Chicken Gold from Amazing Flower Farm (also a local nursery). I am being rewarded for my efforts by a colorful display of blooms.

The Sky was on Fire

Severe weather was predicted all day, however we were spared any damaging wind and hail. Instead we were given a spectacular light show around dusk here in New Ipswich. It was hard to capture the colors as I saw them. The leaves and sky were on fire.
