I had the opportunity to see the Gilford, NH fire department in action this weekend. They were called to fight a fire in the middle of the woods.As anyone knows who hikes in New Hampshire, it is difficult to negotiate through an area without a defined path. It is more difficult when you are wearing protective gear and carrying equipment. To further complicate matters, the jeep they were using got hung up on a tree stump. However they were successful in suppressing the fire, freeing the vehicle and preventing the fire from spreading. Well done folks!
