Cape Elizabeth Maine

When I think of Maine, a rocky coastline comes to mind. I have some photos to share from Cape Elizabeth. I bracketed the exposures and combined them in Photomatix Pro  in High Dynamic Range. It’s a process which is easy to overdo, but I wanted to capture the wonderful patterns in the rocks.
I stayed clear of the wet area. Off in the distance was the obligatory sailboat
I probably should have asked permission to photograph this couple, but the shot was too good to pass up. If they see this, I apologize.
Amazing striations in the stone
The stone made me think of petrified wood

Keeping watch
Site was formerly Battery 201 deactivated in 1946. This was the location of a gun emplacement with a range of 15 miles
Great fun having a GPS built into the camera. Google view of the site
Climbing over rocks is hard work. Before we went, we fueled up at the Muddy Rudder in Yarmouth.
HIGHLY recommended
