Kidder Mountain

It was a lovely Columbus day, weather was unseasonably warm, approaching 80 F. John Weber (an avid hiker) mentioned Kidder Mountain as an easy hike and I realized that after living here for 37 years I had never hiked this nearby peak.

There was a distinct haze which cut down the visibility so I definitely need to return on a clearer day.  I didn’t realize the mountain was a favorite of Benton MacKaye, creator of the Appalachian Trail until I read about it on the Wapack Trail website.
